May 2018 Somerset County Meeting Features Biz Resources at SCORE & Your Local Library
The first week in May was National Small Business week. During that week we shared on social media some free resources, tips and tools with our members and supporters in our Moms In Business Facebook Page as well as our MIB Tips Tools & Resources Facebook Group. At this month’s meeting, we want to continue to focus on business education and development. In keeping with this theme, at our Somerset County chapter meeting, we have invited SCORE (Service Corps Of Retired Executives) Mentor Edie Kelly to be our guest speaker.
Edie Kelly, mom of 2, is a financial advisor for 38 years and a SCORE mentor for over 5 years. Edie mentors entrepreneurs on all aspects of launching and running a small business. She will share the many ways SCORE mentoring will enhance and help our business.
What is SCORE? SCORE is the nation’s largest network of volunteer, expert business mentors, with more than 10,000 volunteers in 300 chapters.
As a resource partner of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), SCORE has helped more than 10 million entrepreneurs through mentoring, workshops and educational resources since 1964. Find Out More Details at the SCORE Website.
Our other business development guest speaker is Manuela (Manny) Miracle. Manny worked as the Public Relations Coordinator for Somerset County Library System for about ten years, earned her Masters degree in Library Science and she is now a librarian at Mary Jacobs Library in Rocky Hill. Manny is very interested in partnering with local business owners to help their enterprises succeed by sharing resources and information and working together to the best interest of Somerset County communities.
